Immunology Conference in Turku

Anssi Kailaanmäki and Vita Skirdenko from the Cell Therapy Unit attended the Single-Cell Immunology Symposium organized by the Finnish Society for Immunology and the BioCity Symposium with this year’s theme “Lifespan of the Immune System” in Turku. The topics covered spanned from the immunology of pregnancy to immunotherapy in elderly cancer patients. The oncoimmunology sessions were of particular interest, with a keynote lecture by Dr. Arlene Sharpe from Harvard Medical School on the immune checkpoint inhibitory receptor blockade in clinical cancer therapy.
